Waking Wednesday #13

Hola friends!  Yes, it's Waking Wednesday and {gasp} I remembered!  Can I get a hooray?  Well because of my silliness of last week, I don't have anyone's crafts to feature.  So I went shopping through my "BLOVE" page and found some great ideas to share with you.  Oh, the creativity of these women astound me.

                                         1.  baby arm warmers
                                         2.  stuffed animal canopy
                                         3.  monster pillow
                                         4.  diaper covers

And now I want to see what you've been working on!

Have you seen my brain?

Really.  Have you seen it?  Because it dawned on me that I utterly and completely and totally forgot about Waking Wednesday.  I'm so sorry.  Even though I was a poopy head, I'm very appreciative of those who participated in the last Waking Wednesday.  Check these out...

Amanda at The Ivy Cottage shows us how to whip up a delish looking lemon pepper crock pot dish...yum!

while we're on the subject of yum, here's a recipe I'm dying to try: sweet craisin banana bread from Lisa at The Pursuit of Happiness.

In the craft department, Monique from Naturally Me Creations shared what she's been working on...

a sweet chore chart - scrap book style

Thanks again for participating, and I promise to keep my head screwed on long enough to remember it next week.

Waking Wednesday Hiatus

Dear friends,

I'm sorry to say that Waking Wednesday (not Waking Lucia!) is taking a pause.  Not by choice, but because the once free website that hosted the link parties is now charging for their service.  I understand the need for them to charge, and it's really quite reasonable, but my monies need to be spent elsewhere for the time being.   I'm sorry for the short notice, I actually just saw it myself, but I hope you'll continue to stop by.   Perhaps I'll figure out how to do a flicker group where we can still all share our ideas.  We'll see, but for now Wednesdays will be filled with great craft ideas I've found around the web - which is fun too!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Waking Wednesdays.  It means so much to me that you would think to include me in your craft journey.  You've inspired me and others time and time again.  All I can say is you ladies rock!

Waking Wednesday #11

Welcome to Waking Wednesday!  Because I was a naughty girl and took last week off, I have double the featured links to share with you so it's like Christmas all over again!  Everyone did such a great job, I wish I could feature everything, but alas that would be redundant and not special at all.  From now on I will be sharing 3 or 4 projects that were submitted each week.  Let's get started, shall we?

Amanda of The Ivy Cottage shared how to make your own chargers.  You have to check this out... so smart!

She also turned a boring old sheet cake into sweet Valentine's treats!  Who says cake needs to stay rectangular?

Stephanie of Double Equis made the cutest baby gift set!  She did such a great job on the baby snuggie... If my little guy wasn't so chunky, I'd attempt one and stuff him in it!

Lisa over at The Pursuit of Happiness transformed her brick fireplace.  It turned out great, I'm quite impressed!  The biggest house project I ever undertook was painting my cabinets.  Great job!

Gail over at Can't Stop Making Things made the prettiest chandelier glass pendant out of an estate sale find.

Shantel of It's a Priceless Life up-cycled a cd into a sweet frame.  What a clever idea for that pile of obsolete disks we all have!

And those crazy Three Sisterz share some really great and easy Valentine's Day gift ideas.  Really, they're effortless yet so cute!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated.  You're projects were all top notch, I wish I could feature every one of them!

Let's see what you've got this week!!

Waking Wednesday #9

Goodbye Monday and Tuesday, hello Wednesday!  Before we get started recapping all of the amazing talent from last week's party, I want to remind you that my Lucia Design's giveaway ends tomorrow at midnight.  You can enter here.  Also, my friend Jenna of Simply Jenna just opened a new Etsy shop and is giving away the cutest felt flower broach.  It's definitely worth checking out!

Ok.  So last week we had 5 wonderful Waking Wednesday participants, including some new faces I hadn't seen!  They were all great, so I'll just give you a quick recap...

My Life As Prose (I'm sorry, I don't know your name) shared what's been going on in her casa with her new bookshelf and lockers (how very clever!)  I love the gray.

Jennifer over at the Life of Jennifer Dawn gives you a double whammy with her oh, so cute as a button hair clip and display card tutorial.  If you plan to sell any clips yourself, you'll definitely want to see her displays!

Lisa from The Pursuit of Happiness made the cutest pincushion pillow.  I lurve the fabrics she used and totally want to make a big version of this to use as a floor pillow!

Amanda of The Ivy Cottage gave such a pretty baby shower for her sister.  The chandelier was my favorite!

And Gail over at Can't Stop Making Things shows us how to do the coolest thing in Photoshop!!  She took a photo and, after cutting out the background and removing the color, replaced the black with words!  It really is neat, and she walks you through it so you can do it and then brag about how techy you are.
(This picture is before the words are added in)

Thanks, everyone for participating - you really did a great job!  Don't forget your button!

Waking Wednesday #8

So, the Three Sisterz (or Tres Hermanas, as I have decided they should be called) came up with one of those "how cute!  I should have thought of that!"projects.  It's a super chic, yet super easy fleece scarf.  You can't see it that well, but it has a great black tassel on the ends.  Click here to see it better.

This next tutorial is really great because it's practical, economical, and do-able!  Amanda from The Ivy Cottage shows us how to beef up a saggy couch.  How impressed would your hubby be if he came home to a newly stuffed and plumped couch?  Quite impressed, I'm sure!

Love, love, love this idea!  Jennifer made the cutest thing for her daughter.  Alphabet Water Canvases!  What a great activity for a little one.  I will definitely be trying this one out when my little guy gets old enough.  For now we're working on rolling over.

And finally, Shantel puts your pile of Christmas cards to good use.  Gift tags!  I didn't even know they made such cute punches.  Way to upcycle!

Wow ladies, what great ideas!  Thanks for participating, I love that you think to stop in and link up - don't forget your button!

Waking Wednesday #7

Well, hello again!  I hope your feeling better than I am right now.  I'm stuffed.  Like - have to unbutton your pants stuffed.  My brother-in-law and his wife are in town, and I put together a "flat bread night."  It was fun, each couple (there were three) brought their own toppings to put on their flat bread.  Mine was sausage and caramelized onions... if I were one to use text lingo, I would pull out the OMG(oodness) right about now.  It was sooo good.  And now here I am.  stuffed and unbuttoned.

Anyhow, on to more important things.  Take a look at what my girls have been up to...

Jennifer made this too cute to boot ruffled skirt for her - dare I say - even cuter daughter.  This picture totally makes me want a little girl next.  Oh, and she started her own Etsy shop so you too can have an adorably dressed little one!  Congratulations, Jenn!

Shantel made this really cute memory book for her grandson Ryder.  Man, you ladies have some great genes producing such sweeties!  I mean, doesn't his face make you just want to squeeze him?  But I digress.  You did a great job on your book, Shantel!  And might I add, you don't look old enough to be a grandma!

And now for the no-sew curtains.  That's right ladies, one of the most beautiful phrases in the English language - "no-sew" - has just been used to describe window treatments.  Can I get an AMEN?  Nice job!

Thank you ladies for your continued support.  I know it's not much, but I'm so proud to have you in my party.  You're all an inspiration.

It is time.  Here's how it works.

Waking Wednesday #5

Hooray for Wednesday!  Not only is it Waking Wednesday, it's Waking Wednesday before Christmas.  Amongst all of the hussle and bussle and worry over what to get whom, let's take a break and be inspired by some very talented ladies.  Here's a recap of last week.

Jennifer of The Life of Jennifer Dawn gave us much to be inspired by.  She was busy crafting felt gift bags, creative book marks, and my personal favorite,

and while your over there take a look at the pictures of her family.  Is that not the cutest little girl ever?

The Three Sisterz returned with yet another cute idea: a doll quilt.  How pretty!  Don't have a doll in need of a quilt?  I say go a bit bigger and make one for that cute baby in your life!

And finally, if you're anything like me and still have yet to put up a single stinkin' decoration on the tree  (aside from the lights that came with it) then you're in luck.  Lisa over at the Pursuit of Happiness shows us how to make the cutest cupcake ornament.  Good timing too!  You'd have to be living in a box to not know that cupcakes are the new doughnuts!

Thanks ladies for the (much needed) inspiration!  Don't forget to grab a button!

Ok ladies and gents... start your engines!
