That's What She Said! {Skip Hop Diaper Bag}
You may have seen an earlier post I had about a new segment I've started called, "That's What She Said!" You can find the introductory video here. Well, here is my first product review. In it I discuss the Skip Hop Studio Diaper bag. If you or someone you know is expecting or in need of a new bag, this video is a must see!

Waking Wednesday #6
What a lovely day for a link party! As I'm writing this my husband and I are enjoying the movie Meet me in St. Louis. Well, I say "enjoying" loosely. I'm in Judy Garland heaven, my husband, not so much. He's being held against his will. Oh, the things we do for love... of musicals.
Well, we had a great party last week. Let's take a looksy...
Jennifer Dawn finished up her quite impressive 24 Days of Holiday Crafts series and showed us how to make this great felt board. This really took me back. We'd always use one in Sunday school. Now I'll have to tuck this away for when I start homeschooling. Thanks Jennifer!
The Three Sisterz keep poppin' out cute things. Last week they showed us how to make holiday gift tags. I didn't make them for Christmas, but I think these would be so cute to include in my etsy shop sales.
What's the holidays without a little bark? Pepperment bark, that is. Shantel Price gives us an easy yet yummy recipe. Christmas may be over but December's not! It's not too late to whip up a batch.

Hello.
Well, hello friends. It's been a while. Did you have a wonderful Christmas? We sure did. It was baby's first Christmas and, although he's only 5 months, we loved sharing the morning with him. He's grown so much and is really starting to look like a little man. I have to share this picture. We decided to brave the mall, and if nothing else, it was worth it to get this shot...
So. Santa's elves weren't the only busy bees this holiday. Lucia has been crafting away! You may have noticed a new, albeit somewhat blurry, button on the right hand side.
I have finally put together an Etsy store! It's still new and growing, but I've already sold three things... and they weren't even to anyone I know! In it you'll find hip accessories for mama and baby. Here's a taste...
I really hope you like them. I have a lot more to add, and I am happy to make custom orders if you have an idea!
I'll still be posting this week, however it will be lighter than usual as my hubby is off and, well, I kind of like spending time with him. I'm sure you understand.

Waking Wednesday #5
Hooray for Wednesday! Not only is it Waking Wednesday, it's Waking Wednesday before Christmas. Amongst all of the hussle and bussle and worry over what to get whom, let's take a break and be inspired by some very talented ladies. Here's a recap of last week.
Jennifer of The Life of Jennifer Dawn gave us much to be inspired by. She was busy crafting felt gift bags, creative book marks, and my personal favorite,

and while your over there take a look at the pictures of her family. Is that not the cutest little girl ever?
The Three Sisterz returned with yet another cute idea: a doll quilt. How pretty! Don't have a doll in need of a quilt? I say go a bit bigger and make one for that cute baby in your life!
And finally, if you're anything like me and still have yet to put up a single stinkin' decoration on the tree (aside from the lights that came with it) then you're in luck. Lisa over at the Pursuit of Happiness shows us how to make the cutest cupcake ornament. Good timing too! You'd have to be living in a box to not know that cupcakes are the new doughnuts!
Thanks ladies for the (much needed) inspiration! Don't forget to grab a button!
Ok ladies and gents... start your engines!

Cosas Amarillas {yellow things}
Last night I decided to make myself and the little man an early Christmas gift. It's a mama teething necklace, and I have fallen in love with making them! These are definitely going in the etsy shop that I am really close to opening!
There are different options for closures. I kind of like the tied ribbon look.
While I was at it, I made a fabric bling ring! I love yellow.
What a pair.
Stay tuned for more teething necklaces that will be on sale soon! Like the ring? The tutorial is coming!

Waking Wednesday #4
Guess what day it is... yes sir-y Bob, it's Waking Wednesday! Ok, I'm not sure why I wrote that. Perhaps it's the lack of sleep talking... well anyhow, let's roll with it. You know who else must be lacking sleep? The talented ladies who participated in last week's link party because they have created some AmAzInG things!
If you have not been to SeeKateSew then you're in for a treat. This adorable ruffle top is only one of the many lovelies you'll find!
While we're on the subject of cute baby things, how about this sweet blanket by Stephanie at Double Equis. Please check it out and read the story that goes along with it. Let's pray for baby Alba; with God, all things are possible!
If these embelleshed stockings aren't cute, then I don't know what is. Thank you Three Sisterz for reminding us that handmade is so much better than store bought!
I love, love, love this Christmas banner. What could be easier then printing and hanging? Thanks Kalleen, on behalf of everyone {me} lacking in both the decor and money department.
And this clever little tree takes no money and almost no time... count me in!
Thanks so much to everyone who participated! Don't forget your featured button!
Now time for the "yada-yada":
1. Link up anything your proud of, just be sure to link back to your specific post so it's easy to find!
2. If you see something you like on someone's blog, leave them an encouraging comment. We need to support and edify each other!
3. If you do decide to link up to Waking Wednesday, I'd appreciate it if you became a follower. A girl's gotta eat.
4. Check back the following Wednesday after posting to see if you've been featured. If you have, grab a button!
Alright crafty friends...show us your stuff!

Waking Wednesday #3
Happy Wednesday everybody! Have you been busy little crafting bees? Well, I am very pleased with last week's party - participation was up 300%!! Sounds impressive, huh? Before we begin, I just wanted to point out that I have changed out my buttons. I know, I just put the other ones up, but I couldn't take it- they were horrible. These are bigger and much easier to read...and they have a heart... how cute is that! So be handsy and grab one... who doesn't need another button?
Ok, on to bigger and better things. Last week we had some great entries!
Shantel over at It's a Priceless Life shared another great tutorial! Purple balls she calls it, and I am totally making one for Christmas...which is in about 2 weeks might I add... ahhh.
Remind your kiddos that you are the coolest mom in the world by showing them how to make their very own puffy paint from Topsy Turvy. You're totally going to do it now, aren't you?
Three Sisterz whipped up some uber cute appliqued onseies, just in time to help you finish up your hand-made Christmas list!
And finally, need to get to a man's heart? Jaime of Artsyfartsy Me will show you the way with her yummy cherry cheesecake...
Great job, ladies! Don't forget to grab a "featured" button!

Sham-Wow Revamp
Well, maybe not a Sham-wow, more like the Dollar Tree knock off - Wow! So I was perusing the aisles at my local Tree the other day, and would you believe my excitement when I found they had added a knock-off "As Seen on TV" section? I was quite thrilled to find this shammy! I haven't tried it out yet, but it seems to be the same material as the original, so I'm assuming it will do just fine. The best use of it for me would be a drying pad for my dishes as we don't have a dishwasher. But now that I'm on this creative journey, I couldn't just leave it the way it was...
So as my banana muffins were baking ....
I decided to embellish my new toy. I started out by making a cardboard cutout of a little birdie...
I grabbed some heat 'n bond I happened to have and followed the directions to adhere my birdie to the shammy.
Now, go make something pretty!

then I used it to cut out a fabric one (I love how the fabric has a star right where the eye would be...a totally pleasant happenstance)
I grabbed some heat 'n bond I happened to have and followed the directions to adhere my birdie to the shammy.
...added a fabric boarder and a "clean! clean!" with perm. marker (not great, I know, but it's all I had) and Voila! a functional, and much prettier, I might add drying station!
Now, go make something pretty!

"Craft & Cackle" Craft Party
Hello friends! I pray you had a fun, relaxing weekend. I wanted to share with you something I am quite excited about. I have a great family and friends; and as a new mommy I've really been craving some girl time. Not because I want time away from my son, well, you understand - girls just need girls occasionally. And It's really been bothering me that I only get to see some of my fam once or twice a year. So... I decided to start a monthly craft day called "Craft and Cackle" (the "cackle" comes from my husband who says that's what we girls do when we get together...I couldn't agree more!). This is how it works: they bring the materials, I give the tutorial. This month the tutorial came from Iammommahearmeroar, and we made her vintage "be" sign.
This was the invitation...
We had some lovely young ladies who came, and they made button flower headbands and hairclips from Disney's tutorial over at ruffles and stuff.
My very cool mom and step-dad hosted the party, and the weather was perfect!
my cute aunts...
crafting away...what a lovely sight!
cute, cute, cute.
showing off my very, ehem, advanced painting skills...
we are quite proud of our craftiness!
This is how mine turned out. Don't look too closely... seriously, don't... ok, avert your eyes!! No, I know it's not a masterpiece, but I think that just adds to the authenticity, right? And come on, I'm left handed, how good can my penmanship possibly get? This is not it's final home either, but I'm in the process of spiffying up the shelf it will eventually be on, but that's another post.
We had such a blast together. I very much encourage you to start your own party! If you do let me know how it goes! You'll love the girl time, and you will feel quite accomplished!
